Professor Stan Gelvin took Purdue Biological Sciences Worldwide

Over the summer and into this fall Professor Stan Gelvin took Purdue Biological Sciences worldwide as he presented several talks at conferences in Vienna, Austria – at the Iwata, Japan and Umea Sweden before the final presentation in Arlington, VA. His presentations were on the topics of Plant Transformation and Biotechnology IV conference entitled "Known plant DNA repair and recombination pathways are not important for T-DNA integration" and “New insights on the mechanism of Agrobacterium T-DNA integration into the plant genome”.
April 13, 2017. Presented a seminar at Japan Tobacco Co., Iwata, Japan entitled “New insights on the mechanism of Agrobacterium T-DNA integration into the plant genome”.
April 17-18, 2017. Consulted with Dr. Daisuke Tsugama from Hokaido University, Japan.
May 30-June 3, 2017. Served on the advisory board for SweTree Technologies Company at Umea, Sweden.
June 27-July 5, 2017. Attended the VISCEA conferences on Plant Transformation and Biotechnology IV, and Plant Genome Editing and Genome Engineering in Vienna, Austria. Served on the International Organizing Committee for the Plant Transformation and Biotechnology IV conference. Served as a session chair and presented a major talk at the Plant Transformation and Biotechnology IV conference entitled "Known plant DNA repair and recombination pathways are not important for T-DNA integration".
September 7-8, 2017. Professor Gelvin attended the 20th Annual NSF Plant Genome Program meeting for Principal Investigators in Arlington, VA . He presented a poster entitled “Manipulating Agrobacterium-mediated Transformation and T-DNA Integration for Plant Synthetic Biology and Genome Engineering.”
